✱ Why I built this
My why
I was you.
Hey! I’m Jess. I was a stay-at-home mom for over ten years in a small town in Kentucky. When my kids started school, I wanted to bring in income without giving up drop-offs, pickups, sick days and school breaks.
I know what it’s like to feel the stress of making ends meet and the constant desire for extra income, without wanting to give up time with my kids or take a job I didn’t love. I tried blogging, e-commerce and medical coding. Nothing stuck.
I was torn between wanting to earn more and wanting a career that fit my life, not the other way around. Then I found virtual assistant work, and turned small tasks like answering emails, managing admin and running social media into a six-figure business.
Within three months I had my first client. A few months later, I retired my husband from pharmacy so he could work alongside me.
I still work with clients every day, so everything you learn here is grounded in what clients are actually asking for right now. Some of my friends love their jobs and use what I teach to add extra income. Some work part-time while staying home with their kids, and others have turned it into full-time income.
When friends kept asking, “How are you doing this?”, Work With Joy was my answer.

honest answers.
Do I need experience to become a virtual assistant?
No. You can become a virtual assistant with no experience. You only need to be about 10% ahead of your client to help them, and the course gives you enough familiarity with the tools to confidently say “I can figure that out.”
How long does it take to see results?
Honestly, we can’t put a time frame on it. Everyone comes to the table looking for something different, with a different amount of time to put in, so results look different for everyone. Some people in our community have landed their first client within a few months. For others, it has taken six to nine months. It really comes down to what you put into it.
What matters most: we’re with you every step of the way. If you’re putting in the work and something isn’t clicking, we’ll help you figure out why. We want to link arms with you and help you reach your goals, however you define success.
Is this a click-by-click tutorial for every platform?
No, on purpose. You get a big-picture view of what clients ask for and how the tools work, then keep learning as you go, with deeper dives from guest experts in The Ready Room.
Will you help me find clients?
Yes. You will build your one sheet, practice client calls, follow the 30-Day Marketing Challenge and get fresh job leads in The Ready Room every week. Results depend on the work you put in.
I already own a business. Is this for me?
Yes. Many of the same skills (social media, Canva, email marketing, systems) can take your own business to the next level.
What if I get stuck?

How long do I have access?
